MATH 98 ELEMENTARY ALGEBRA II

TEXTBOOK: Required: Lial, Hornsby. Beginning Algebra, 8th ed. Addison Wesley Longman, 2000.

ATTENDANCE: It is your responsibility to attend class. If sickness or an emergency contributes to your absence, please phone and leave a message BEFORE class. In addition, contact a classmate for the day's assignment, any work you missed, and ask if you may copy their lecture notes. Course performance often suffers when attendance is "casual".

ASSIGNMENTS: Assignments will be made on a daily basis. It is expected that you will try all problems assigned on the same night as the topic was covered in class. Future work will build on ideas found in the exercises.

EXAMS: There will be two quizzes, six exams (lowest exam score will be dropped), and two finals throughout the quarter. The schedule is as follows:
